Killer Valley Horror Film Festival Awards 2008
Better Late Then Never.
View the Killer Valley Horror Film Festival 2008 (KVHFF) Awards Ceremony via these clips. KVHFF Director Randy Granstrom presents the awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best SFX, and Creepiest Film for 2008. The Creepiest Film Award is an original award created by the KVHFF at their premiere festival in 2007. This award was inspired by the overwhelminingly similar reactions by film judges to the production "Play With Me" from Director Dan McCloy. McCloy went on to get the Best Director Award in 2008 for his motion picture "Zombie a Go Go." "Zombie a Go Go" pieced together live-action talent with locations and backgrounds animated by McCloy. The Special Effects (SFX) were the work of Medford-based Morbid Creations. Morbid Creations is a husband/wife team that took the Best SFX Award in 2007.
Summer Circus Highlights

One weekend each Spring, just after the right at the Shell Station, long before you hit the river's edge, a local property owner opens up his land for an all-weekend extravaganza of music, outdoor recreation, and a barter faire to celebrate the oncoming season - The Summer Circus. Started 4 or 5 years ago, the Summer Circus began with a small group of musicians and their close friends taking over a stage nestled in the middle of the Siskiyous for a couple days of music and excess.
I am the Cheese
Just got a newsletter from Cinemasport, about a new contest in Mill Valley, CA on Oct. 6, '07. Even though they dissed us hard on our Go Time submission in '05 (or was it '04?), I thought I'd check out whether it was worth getting in on the next one. So I check out the SF films, and the first one that I even think to check out was called "I am the Cheese." Well shit Lo and Behold -- not only was it a sweet video, but the first thing I see in the credits is the name Jason Tongen ! As you may or may not remember, Tongen played Handsomer Agent (or was it Handsome Agent?) in Go Time , which also featured Subliminal Twinkeez members, DJ EyE and A-Typical DJ. Tongen also served as our head editor on Go Time , so it's no wonder "I am the Cheese" was so good. The song for this video is "I am the Cheese" by Safety Scissors from the album Tainted Lunch.
You can view more of Jason Tongen's content at jasontongen.com . Plus, he is a main editor at CurrentTV, with many a sweet video including one at the Kentucky Derby and a Flosstradamus interview. The song featured for this video is "I am the Cheese" by Safety Scissors from the album Tainted Lunch.

Go Time gets an IMDB Page!

Four years after it's debut (almost to the day), our short film Go Time got it's own IMDB page. Funny, they called us. Sid hadn't even attempted to get an IMDB page yet, at least not before getting NJOTR into production status.
Anyways, check out Go Time on IMDB and give it a good rating will ya? Now we gotta go and make up a movie poster for this awesome short film.
Watch Go Time (Official Version) on IMDB (full cast list)
Watch Go Time (Producer's Cut) on YouTube
The video clip on IMDB is the official short video, which was released to film festival audiences after the original version was accepted, slated to screen, and then never appeared during a 9-hr film production competition. The competition itself was a rip-off of the popular 48-hr Film Project, of which Go Time Producer Levi Anderson shares 3 awards with Team Nealham from two other short videos produced under strict time & content constraints.
Below, and on YouTube, you can view the longer, Producer's Cut, which includes the story of why Handsomer Agent #2 (Tongen) is afraid of wool. This was the original version, as Agent #2's story involved a plot point that was required in the competition that this video was produced for. However, since the heads of the competition ripped us off and stonewalled us, we cut the scene to make the story progress quicker. After submitting the shorter official version of Go Time to film festivals, and making it available through other digital distributors, the Producer (Anderson) felt that quirky love story that went nowhere was an important element in the relationship developing between the two Agent characters (Large and Tongen).
Upcoming Production: The Bag (2009)
THE BAG is a short film in production in southern Oregon from a festival award-winning team, local to the area. THE BAG is a simple yet disturbing story of an elderly woman who has grown tired of living. The film is scheduled to go in to production in late October 2009. THE BAG will be directed by Ray Nomoto Robison and was written by by Marlyn Mason. The film is set to star Peggy Stewart.
Robison and Mason previously teamed up on a short film, Model Rules, which has won a Grand Prize Best Screenplay Award at the 2008 Rhode Island International Film Festival and Northwest Emerging Artist "Best Short" at the 2009 Salem Film Festival.
