DJ Eye has been building these tracks with Ramiz Monsef for what seems like years and years now. But the wait is over, after the first official taste of the Twinkeez hit iTunes and the all-consuming public via DJ EYE: INSOMNIAC, they're back with a full-length album that's All Twinkeez!
"The Twinkeez' Defense"!
DJ Eye is the composer, along with A-Typical DJ, on the haunting and truly eclectic old movie film style soundscapes that permeate the tracks on this album. Ramiz "the Manchild" Monsef lends an educated and soulful lyricism to the awesome tunes. Ramiz joined the Twinkeez back in 2003 as they were ending their college days of entertaining PAC-10 students with late-night carnival rides through a musical wonderland, joining forces with other experimental and evolving acts like Various Ardis and the electro-fusion band Sizemix.
At the time, the Twinkeez were a Turntable Duo, happy to oblige the up-&-coming MC at any college party, but hadn't found a vocalist that matched their twisted personas, yet. After an improv flow at what was to be a final hurrah in their college stomping grounds of Ashland, OR - the Twinkeez found the vocal talents and twisted deep approach of Ramiz to be the first that had ever come close to matching the intensity of the Twinkeez live performance.

Now, on their second release, The Twinkeez Defense,
DJ Eye, A-Typical DJ, and Ramiz The Manchild Monsef are back with a harder hitting and head bobbing masterpiece. Each track is engineered by DJ Eye, and the sounds within this album will massage your aural cavaties, temporal and miscellaneous lobes, and possibly even your private parts. The track Air Fare for instance will make your spine tingle with the emotive layers brought through Eye's unique synth/turntable blends.
The group toured as a 3-piece originally, but just recently Ramiz and DJ Eye performed sans the A-Typical to quite appreciative crowds in both New York and San Francisco. The Sucka Free is the current homebase for the Subliminal Twinkeez; the Twinkeez' own reflection of their present dwellings on their un-proclaimed club track Sucka Free is hilarious, but the humor of the Manchild's writing is truely shining through on the sick and twisted love song of a stalker, My Romancing.
Stand Out Tracks:

A burning song. MC Manchild is of Middle Eastern descent. He no likey the racism and political propaganda which promotes stereotypes and coerces religious fervor to fuel bullshit wars against nations of innocent women and children. Or something like that. I can't speak for the man, but this track can, and does. DJ Eye is a master of moods on this one, and the catchy samples of Georgie Porgie President Bush are sure to remain timeless.
- Accordion to Who
-
Less political, and more romantic, this is an instrumental piece by DJ Eye that is just downright amazing. Featuring an accordion, and craftily mixed with original skratch, drum/bass, and heavy lovin soundscapes of theatrical proportions, the track starts you out in cozy French City from a demented Disney film and takes you on a wild ride through you own private French Connection action adventure of sorts, followed by a hot & heavy, sexy finale - or what you might call an eargasm. OK, maybe that sounds kinda weird, but you'll get your own acid-tuned trip out of this one. Most definitely.
