Killer Valley Horror Film Festival Awards 2008
Better Late Then Never.
View the Killer Valley Horror Film Festival 2008 (KVHFF) Awards Ceremony via these clips. KVHFF Director Randy Granstrom presents the awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best SFX, and Creepiest Film for 2008. The Creepiest Film Award is an original award created by the KVHFF at their premiere festival in 2007. This award was inspired by the overwhelminingly similar reactions by film judges to the production "Play With Me" from Director Dan McCloy. McCloy went on to get the Best Director Award in 2008 for his motion picture "Zombie a Go Go." "Zombie a Go Go" pieced together live-action talent with locations and backgrounds animated by McCloy. The Special Effects (SFX) were the work of Medford-based Morbid Creations. Morbid Creations is a husband/wife team that took the Best SFX Award in 2007.

Independent Short Show #2 is on the Air
The Illustrated Sandwich Movie Film Team is at it again. Their latest episode aired on Saturday March 15, 2008 - and it was such a swell success, that it will be airing an encore episode this coming Saturday March 22, 2008 at 11pm on RVTV Channel 15. For fans, junkies, or those who've only just heard, the Illustrated Sandwich Independent Short Show is a local variety program, featuring Ashland area talent and particularly Rogue Valley locations. The first episode, Chick School, is available for online viewing now at IllustratedSandwich.com. Sid hears some audio troubles with the online version and has been informed that the Illustrated Sandwich team is working on those and will re-post in the future, however their main concern is getting the final 2 episodes of the Independent Short Show wrapped and edited. Next week will be an episode called the Short Sale, followed by a Support Group episode, a romantic homage to the short film She Comes in Colors, and a Live Season Finale.
The catch is that the Season doesn't officially begin until next season. You and other web visitors like yourself are privy to the inside scoop on the Beta Season of the Illustrated Sandwich Independent Short Show - brought to you with the help of SidFilmz. Go ahead and check out a few clips. The episode stars Brian LeBlanc, who you may remember from The Partisan. The end of the second clip, the third clip, and the final clip of Chick School are Sid's favorites, but who's to say clips four and five aren't bad either? Certainly not Dayvin Turchiano who plays one of the main supporting roles, alongside Austin VanCampen, Levi Anderson, and Joe Porto. There are also guest appearances from Ashland locals and business owners thrown in for kicks. That's part of the fun of these shows - the smattering of local all over it. The Independent Short Show isn't made for Hollywood, it's made for Ashland, and caters particularly well to it's crowd. But hey, maybe you'll like it no matter where you're watching it from. Chick School Premeire
The Illustrated Sandwich Independent Short Show premiere of Episode 1: Chick School was held at the Ashland Elks Lodge on Friday Jan. 25 to a very entertained crowd. The first screening was during a Dinner and a Movie Event, where over 100 local patrons had a home-cooked pizza dinner catered by Joe Porto - who also has a featured role in Episode 1. After dinner, these guests all were honored with the very first screening of The Illustrated Sandwich Independent Short Show at 8pm. Later in the evening, with the bar open for cocktails, about 35-40 new fans showed up for a secondary screening and again were quite entertained.
The Illustrated Sandwich Independent Short Show will begin screening to Southern Oregon Audiences at 7:30 on Sunday Nights starting Feb. 23, 2008. New episodes will show each Sunday for 6 weeks. Stay tuned to RVTV to catch all new episodes, and if you want to be included on further updates, just contact us at SidFilmz to subscribe to our email updates, or go to IllustratedSandwich.com for more entertainment from Illustrated Sandwich.
