Bernie Worrell first came to prominence as a founding member and
musical director of Parliament/ Funkadelic. While this massively
influential supergroup was radically altering the course of music, he
was radically charting the course of emerging keyboard technology
during the golden age of analog synthesis. He went on to play Synth w/ the Talking Heads, most memorably on their "Stop Making Sense" tour. Currently Bernie teams up on various projects and is currently working on new material for an album release and tour with the group SociaLybrium.
BernieWorrell.com was already up and running, well, it was already up, but had stopped running, when they came to Sid for help. As is the case with many websites out there, someone helped Bernie build a great looking website, then just couldn't follow through with keeping it up to date. Bernie's manager got in touch with Sid through a designer that Sid had recently worked with. Bernie's manger really wanted to be able to take control of updating the website herself, including posting new videos, adding merchandise, and updating Bernie's Tour Schedule.
Sid took Bernie's original design, and transferred it to a CMS that would allow Bernie and his manager to have control over their own website updates. Sid then added an MP3 player, which could be updated from the same area as the main website. Adding a simple Shopping Cart page that would send payments through PayPal helped keep the administration very simple for this website, and helped keep development costs down as well. Sid also added a nice Photo Gallery plugin and Video plugin that allowed the website administrators to easily just add links from most video sharing sites, and the plugin would place the appropriate media player into the page for them. Sid made it almost too easy to update this website, but luckily there were a couple of bugs to troubleshoot after launching, so Sid's ego didn't get out of check.
All in all, BernieWorrell.com is just what his manager needed, an easy to update website, with all the media features that fans want to see. And Bernie's team didn't have to sacrifice their original web design to get the control they wanted. That's always a bonus.
