FilmTVWorkshops.com is a Professional Service Website* for Workshop Producer Tom Kane. As a retired Producer, Unit Production Manager, and Assistant Director who has worked on such films as Kramer vs. Kramer, Raging Bull and Taxi Driver, Tom Kane has a unique knowledge of the business side of feature film production. He has been offering his Film Production Workshop nationally for years, and has recently taken it international with workshops in Amsterdam, Greece, Puerto Rico, and Santo Domingo. Tom came to Sid with hopes of revamping his website's classic design, and incorporate some new life into his current web presence.
The first thing to tackle, was the web design. The new design includes a Flash Animation header, and a fixed footer so that the website content scrolls behind the header and footer, keeping the content branded to the workshop. One goal in the redesign was to push online registration for his workshop. Until now, students had to print out a form and mail it with a check to Tom in order to register for a workshop. Sid incoporated a PayPal payment method, and created an interactive form so that students could actually email their registration information and pay instantly from the website.
Another step into the present with the website update was the creation of a Facebook account and Wikipedia entry for the instructor and his workshop. A Film Production Workshop Facebook page was created to allow students of Tom's Film Production Workshop a simple place to network and keep up to date on film production resources. This also allows interested filmmakers an opportunity to see upcoming workshops in their area, and if there are none, they can contact Tom to show their interest and possibly get a workshop in their area.
Establishing Web Visitor Analytics was another important step in bring more value to the website in helping Tom realize opportunities in bringing his Film Production Workshop to new towns and countries. In the past Tom had just picked areas that historically had shown an interest in film production or had the ample film production resources to seem like a hungry environment for his workshop. However, now Sid has enabled Tom with the ability to see geographically where more searches are originating from with an interest in learning the business side of feature film and video production. This has been a great influence on Tom's decision-making when he brings his workshop to new territories.
