Sid's first idea was do some original photography. To really update a website like this one, the most important thing is to make it familiar, and to a small to mid-sized town community, like Medford, Oregon - the easiest way to do that is just to put a picture on things. So we kept the original layout structure, which was just a left-nav, center content, and made it bigger & bolder. Sid then decided to update their "
Our Location" page with an actual interactive map from Google. Now the page offers a chance for visitors to get direction and has now become their "
Service Locater."
Rather than keep an entire parts catalog on the JacksonRV website, which would need to be constantly updated, Sid opted to just provide links to the manufacturer pages for each of the product categories that Jackson RV offers. To make the page more appealing and effective, Sid put familiar brand name logos in the main content area, then used a JS Accordian Module to show the product categories and their manufacturers without the lists taking up screen real estate. If you can make the boring info a little more fun to get to, it's more effective.
